This night was one of the scariest of my life (not because Rascal was laying on the phone, lol)
I wrote this the day it happened, so I'm just copying and pasting it to here.
I heard Rascal's nails clicking on the bathroom floor and didn't think anything about it, I figured he was playing with his dog food, which he does A LOT and sometimes throws it into the bathroom and chases it around (weird dog, I know). When it didn't stop after a minute or so, I walked in there and he looked like Bambi when he was trying to stand on ice for the first time (best way I can describe it). It was NOT right, at all! I knew something was wrong with him. So I picked him up and he just froze, completely, but his whole body was shaking. I started freaking out just as Will walked through the door. I told him I thought Rascal was having a seizure. Then I realized how hot it was in the apartment. I made Will turn the a/c on and went and held Rascal in front of it. He was still shaking really bad and I was starting to get even more freaked out. So I told Will to turn some cold water on and he started the bathroom sink. I hurried and stuck Rascal in the sink and he just flopped over in the sink (I thought he was almost dead!) and I started splashing him with water all over. I couldn't feel him breathing so I put my mouth over his nose and mouth and blew into it. He took a deep breath and was still doing the nonbreathing thing, so I did it again and he started breathing normally again. I could feel his little heart pumping away :(
I was still splashing water on him when Will started the bath tub and we stuck him in there. He stood up on the edge of the tub like he would during a bath. We finally got him to stop shaking and took him out of the tub.
The little brat decides he's going to run around, go eat and act like NOTHING had happened to him!!!
Thankfully he's okay now, he's not even acting the slightest bit strange or anything. We've decided that no matter how high our power bill gets, the rest of the summer the air will be on set to 72 so that this shit doesn't happen again.
I freaked out SOOOOOO BAD! I feel horrible for not realizing how hot it was and how bad it was effecting him! His water is refreshed like 10-15 times a day where it's hot (spoiled brat gets cold bottled water too, lol), and we don't take him outside for long periods of time because of the heat.
I feel like the worlds worst pet owner for this and have been beating myself up since I finally calmed down.
